Competitive Exams To Take After 12th Class For Studying Abroad
IELTS is required by English – speaking countries such as Australia, the UK, NZ, USA and Canada for admission into university and also for visa purpose. IELTS is required by European countries too in some cases.
IETLS exam assesses candidate’s listening, reading, speaking and writing skills.
The score range is on a scale of 1-9. Most of universities accepts overall 6 Bands for admission purpose. In some cases, 5.5 Bands are acceptable too.For High-Ranking institutes / universities minimum required score is 6.5 orhigher.
TOEFL scores are accepted worldwide by universities in the US, Canada, Australia, NZ, the UK and across Europe. The exam is comprising of four sections: reading, speaking, listening and writing.
Each section has a score range of 0-30 and the total score range is 0-120. Overall, 70 – 80 is considered as a good score and is accepted by most universities and institutes.
Major universities and colleges in countries like the UK, USA, NZ, Australia and Canada do accepts students with good score in the PTE.
The college board is in charge of conducting the SAT. This is a written test with a scale of 200-800 scoring points. There are a total of 154 questions with a given time of 3 hours, and along with the essay, exam will take 3 hours 50 minutes.
The exam is usually conducted 5 time in a year. It is usually conducted in March, May, August, October and December.
ACT is for students applying for admission in undergraduate schools based in the US and Canada. It is a computer-based test conducted in test centers across India.
The ACT is conducted only a few times in a year between September to July, for which international students can apply online only.
The exam has four sections which are English (45 mins), Math (60 mins), Reading (35 mins), and Science (35 mins) with an optional writing section (40 mins) for which students are not scored.
Total duration od exam is 3 hours and 35 minutes with a total of 215 questions. Each section is scored on a scale of 1-36. ACT scores are valid for 5 years.
