Intakes in UK

The academic year in the UK runs September to July. Generally, UK Universities and Colleges have 3 intakes. Some of them might also refer to an intake as a term. Major 3 intakes available in the UK are as bellow:

We would advise you to apply well in advance because admissions and scholarships get difficult when you apply closer to the deadline. It is always feasible to apply 6 to 9 months before the academic session starts.

Steps to follow for Study in the UK

  • Step 1 - Research your options:

Before you shortlist the universities, decide what you want to study, where you want to live, overall cost, various opportunities etc.

  • Step 2 - Select Universities:

Shortlist the universities & study programs that meet your requirements and where you want to apply for.

  • Step 3 - Prepare for Entrance Exams:

Prepare for the standardized tests like IELTS / TOEFL / GRE / GMAT etc., based on the requirements of the universities & colleges. Register for these tests in advance. While applying for the tests you should also plan for the time required in case you need to retake the test. You should complete these tests before September of the year you wish to apply.

  • Step 4 - Start Preparing your Financial Evidence

Start planning your financial evidence early. If you or your parents will pay your tuition fees, you will need bank statements showing you have held the required funds in your account for at least 28 days. The least transaction date must be no more than 31 days before you submit your visa application. If you will be funded by an official sponsor, you must obtain a sponsorship letter from them containing all the information required by UKVI.

  • Step 5 - Prepare your other Supporting Documents

It's wise to prepare your supporting documents early - as with your financial evidence - so that you can apply quickly once you receive your CAS. Make sure you have your original academic certificates and transcripts, and English Language test certificate, if needed. Your CAS will confirm which documents you need to submit as evidence.

  • Step 6 - Accept your unconditional letter

To apply for a student visa (Tier 4), you will need a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) from the university.

  • Step 7 - Complete Online Visa Application Form

When you have read all the guidance and prepared all your supporting documents, apply through UK Government Website. During the application you will need to provide CAS number.

  • Step 9 - Receive your Visa

When your visa application has been processed successfully, your passport will be sent back to you with a visa sticker pasted to a blank page.
