The processing time is short.
You can apply for an EU Blue Card once you secure a job and work permit.

Germany Job Seeker Visa Requirements

To qualify for Germany Job Seeker Visa, you have to fulfill several criteria for submitting your application:

You should have a Master / Bachelor Degree from a University in Germany or an Equivalent Overseas Degree.
You should possess minimum 5 years of work experience correlated to your field of study.
You should demonstrate of having adequate funds for covering your stay duration in Germany.
You should have a medical travel insurance for full duration of your stay in Germany.
You should have proficiency in English, but it it not necessary to take any test.
Knowledge of German Language is not mandatory, but it will help you in finding a job.
You should show a proof of accommodation for 6 months.

Recognition of your Overseas University Qualification in Germany

You should possess minimum education qualification at the university level that is accepted in Germany. You have 2 options for proving that your qualification is accepted in Germany:

Identifying your qualification in the database of ANABIN.
Applying for a Comparability Statement from the ZAB - Foreign Education' Central Office
Passport
D - Visa Form duly filled & signed
3-4 Passport Sized Photograph as per specification.
Cover Letter: This letter should explain the purpose of your visit, your plan for a job search, and the substitute career plans in case you cannot find a job.
Your academic documents: This includes your degree certificates and / or other evidence of your education qualification from a German University or Overseas University.
Work Experience Certificates.
Your Updated CV - Curriculum Vitae.
Evidence of funds available for covering the expenses during your stay in Germany.
Documents of your personal status in your home country such as marriage certificate, birth certificate and other documents. If not in English, it should be translated in English.
Travel Medical Insurance.

Note:

  • You must arrange 2 sets of all the documents and carry them with you to the application center during your appointment. 
  • It must be noted that having all the documents does not ensure the approval of the visa. The decision is fully depended on the Consular Officer. The Consulate / Embassy of Germany also reserves the right to seek extra documents. 

Steps to apply for a Germany Job Seeker Visa

  • Arrange all required supporting documents

    Arrange all required documents and form as mentioned above.

  • Appointment & Visa Application Submission in Embassy

    After collecting and arranging all the above documents, you will have to take appointment from German Embassy / Consulate. You will have to visit the Embassy / consulate for submission of your visa application. Moreover, Embassy / consulate will take an interview regarding purpose of trip, previous and current employment, how you will find Job in Germany etc. You must have knowledge about the country, culture and job prospects in Germany according to your profile. You should satisfy the Consular.

  • Verification of Documents

    Once your visa application is submitted, Embassy / Consulate will cross-verify all submitted documents along with visa application. Embassy can ask additional information or documents from you, if required.

  • Decision

    It will take around 4 weeks to 6 weeks to receive decision on the visa application by German Embassy / Consulate.

Test of German Language is not a mandatory requirement, but it will help you in getting a visa and finding a job. 

Germany – Job Seeker Visa is issued for 6 months, once your find the job you can extend for 5 years and there is scope for migration or permanent residency.

The Germany Job Seeker visa is not extendable. If you are not able to find a job within the validity of your visa, you will have to return to your home country,
